SIP — Systematic Investment Plan
Start a SIP, the right way
A SIP is a recurring debit (UPI AutoPay or e-NACH) that buys mutual-fund units on a fixed date. We help you pick a sensible first scheme, register the mandate in minutes, and stay invested through cycles.
In one paragraph
Pick a goal, pick a scheme, set the amount and date — your first SIP debit happens on the next available SIP date and your folio is created automatically with BSE StAR MF. We use Regular plans (trail commission funded), disclose the expense ratio versus Direct on every scheme page, and never charge an advisory fee.
- Minimum ₹500 / month on most equity funds; ₹100 on some index funds.
- UPI AutoPay setup in 30 seconds; e-NACH for higher amounts.
- Paperless CKYC via DigiLocker or VCIP fallback.
- Pause / cancel any time, no penalty, no questions.
How it works, step by step
- Open an account with mobile OTP (60 seconds).
- Complete CKYC / DigiLocker eKYC. VCIP as fallback (8 minutes).
- Add at least one nominee — SEBI's June 2024 rule allows up to 10 with % allocation.
- Pick a scheme. If you don't have one, default to a Nifty 50 index fund Regular Growth.
- Set SIP amount + date + UPI AutoPay. Approve the NPCI prompt in your UPI app.
- Your first debit fires on the next SIP date; units allotted T+1.
FAQ
What's the minimum SIP amount?
Most equity schemes accept ₹500 per instalment; some index funds start at ₹100. The actual minimum is set by each AMC and shown on every scheme page.
How long does setup take?
If you already have CKYC, the full flow — KYC fetch, nominee, scheme pick, UPI AutoPay mandate — runs in 8–12 minutes. If you need fresh KYC, add 5 minutes for DigiLocker or 8 minutes for VCIP.
Can I stop a SIP without redeeming?
Yes — pause or cancel the mandate from your dashboard. Your existing units stay invested and continue to participate in returns.
Direct or Regular plans?
We transact in Regular plans because that's how we earn (trail commission paid by the AMC). On every scheme page we disclose the Direct vs Regular expense ratio so you can decide. If you only want Direct, the AMC's own website is the right place.
